mc-header

On the last day of good high country riding, a few of us went and rode the Monarch Crest trail, in Salida, Colorado

Anthony starting off the ride, but before I jump in the ride, lets talk about preride...

Just as a joke (to me), we brought along a Coors Light that was in the Yeti truck for a while...

Ms. Hillary got a new bike and was ecstatic to ride it! See those flags-a-waving? It was WINDY!

It was mighty chilly starting out, a balmy 43 degrees (yes, we had a bet on the temperature, and H won) I went on ahead to try to warm up and snap some photos...

Kirk and Hillary

The cooler and wintery temperatures created a very white sky

There was almost a gummi bear casualty, however, Kirk stepped up to the plate to save them...

That singletrack was b-e-a-Utiful

There is a bit of yellow still in the high country...

The white of that yeti was very visable and perfect for the 4000 descent we are about to approach (not because of the color, but because of the plushness)

Those clouds were low and threatening, but we didn't let it bother us, heck we were at 11,000 feet, of course the weather is volatile at this elevation.

Did I mention Hillary liked her bike?
